# Cannot assign topic to group

Hi, I cannot assign a topic to a group even though my settings show that group. The below announce should allow me to do that is it ? Thanks.

In addition to the `Assign allowed on groups` site setting have you also set the ‘Who can assign this group’ to something other than ‘nobody’ on the group’s `/manage/interaction` page?

yes this. as per the [Discourse Assign topic](https://meta.discourse.org/t/discourse-assign/58044):
