# Cannot disable read-only mode on Free Plan

Can you try again now to see if you can disable read-only mode?

For some reason, our system was forcing your site to be read-only assuming that the second warning had been sent already. It’s possible it was triggered by changes made to read-only mode but we’ll look into it, along with another timing-related issue reported [here](https://meta.discourse.org/t/misleading-free-plan-shutdown-timeline/400747/4).
