# Cannot save category security settings when adding custom group”

I encountered a problem with category security settings.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Create a custom group and add members to it.
2. Go to Admin → Categories → [Category name] → Security.
3. Try to add the custom group to the security list (with See/Reply/Create permissions).
4. Click “Save Category.”

Expected result:

- The custom group should be added and saved as a permission for the category.

Actual result:

- After saving, the group is not saved and disappears when I go back to the category settings.
- This happens both in Japanese UI and English UI.
- Tested on Discourse (self-hosted).

Additional info:

- The group itself exists and members are correctly assigned.
- Only “everyone” is saved, but any custom group cannot be stored.
- No error message is shown.

Is this a known bug or am I missing some setting?

Discourse version: 3.6.0.beta1-dev  
Environment:self-hosted on ConoHa VPS, Mailgun EU region
