# Cannot send a group join request

With the current version of self-hosted Discourse (`3.2.0.beta2-dev`) it is no longer possible to send a request to join groups.

The js error that comes, complains that the `reason` field has only a getter

Is there something that needs to be done after update? Or is this clearly a bug?

There was a fix about two weeks ago.

Aww… right, my bad 🫠

I got a green face on my panel so I assumed, I’m up to date. There was indeed a newer version and the issue is gone.

Also I’ve typed wrong keywords in the search box, because the topic you linked, didn’t pop out to me…
