# Cannot use the same bucket for 's3\_upload\_bucket' and 's3\_backup\_bucket'

Hello,

At old installation, when I can have same bucket for ‘s3\_upload\_bucket’ and ‘s3\_backup\_bucket’ name, why it is stopping on new installed Discourse?

> You cannot use the same bucket for ‘s3\_upload\_bucket’ and ‘s3\_backup\_bucket’. Choose a different bucket or use a different patg for each bucket.

I think you so set the blank on the s3 endpoint

It was a bug that this was ever allowed. You should not use the same bucket for both uploads and backups.
