# Can't copy and paste emoji and can't quote emoji 😢

### Can’t copy and paste emoji

1. Select an emoji from a post and copy
2. Paste selected into composer

Expected `:smile:` but got `smile`

### Can’t quote emoji

1. Highlight emoji
2. Click quote reply.

I think you need to be using your emojination here

I think the fix is to fill in the `alt` attribute?

Yup but the behavior is different between browsers :sadpanda: Firefox doesn’t pick up the `alt` attribute but I made the change anyway since it’ll work on chrome.
