Can't Delete a Spammer with a one month old account and posts?

(Lowell Heddings) #1

I’ve noticed this a couple times now.

  1. Spammer registers an account.
  2. Spammer waits a month or two before doing anything.
  3. Spammer posts a bunch of spam links.
  4. The “Delete all posts” feature is not there, so I have to manually delete each one, and then block them manually.

It’s annoying.

Link to the spammer profile (which I’m going to ban now):

@codinghorror maybe we should use “time from first post” as the “determiner” of the availability of the feature.

Eg. 48 hours from first post have it available.

Yes agreed I run into this all the time too. @neil can you make it so? (Just change the meaning/semantics/name/default of the existing setting – don’t want two settings on this.)

Let’s try to get to this settings change this coming week @neil.

@geek This change is done and deployed. We now look at the age of a user’s first post to determine if they can be nuked.

To amplify on what @neil said, delete_user_max_post_age is the renamed setting:

The maximum age of a user’s first post, in days, which allows a user to be deleted.

User deletions are no longer limited based on the age of the account but the age of their first post.
