I dunno, @eviltrout should we have it there? I guess it would not hurt. ---

I don’t know when this button was implemented, but I have gone almost a whole year of using Discourse and I haven’t noticed it until just recently. I usually stay in Latest view and try to keep up reading every post. It would be nice to selectively mark certain types of posts as Read, but also it would be beneficial to possibly put the button up top somehow. Obviously if you accidentally click it you might get pissed off.. but up top opens up some possibilities. For instance if the button said [Mark Read All Shown] then you could select whatever category or filter you wanted first, then click the button. A button as powerful as this might need to come with one of those annoying popups, “Are you sure???” ---

I doubt it was implemented in category view, would you like to give it a shot? ---

@eviltrout I do think this should work per category unless there are difficult technical reasons it is hard to do. ---
