Can't get rid of "Create New Topic" item that I Cancelled

(cpradio) #1

Okay, so this is annoying me and it may be a user issue, but I started to create a new topic and ultimately decided, it wasn’t necessary (it wasn’t truly a bug/feature needed).

So I hit cancel and said “Yes, abandon”. However, the stupid thing persists. So every time I load meta, it popups my abandoned create topic request and wants me to continue it!

I’ve cancelled it 4 times now and it still keeps coming back. :frowning:

I can’t reproduce this, at least in Firefox (happened to be in Firefox testing outlines when I saw this).

  1. Create new topic
  2. Enter title
  3. Enter body
  4. Wait a bit for draft to save
  5. Cancel the new topic and answer “Yes, abandon” to the cancel

The draft new topic never appears for me again after that point.

Maybe hard refresh your browser (ctrl+f5)?

Okay, I just caused it again (in Chrome), even tried a hard refresh and it still persists.

Here were my steps:

  1. Go to meta.discourse.org
  2. Click Create Topic
  3. Type in Title of “Another test for abandoning a topic”
  4. Select Category of “bug”
  5. Type body of “This is a test in abandoning a topic, or failing to abandon it.”
  6. Once you see “Saved”, close the Topic Suggestions and navigate to Unread
  7. Click Cancel
  8. Click Yes, Abandon
  9. Navigate to Latest again
  10. Hard Refresh page, it pops back up and the data is still persisted.

This is fixed now, please flag this if you are still able to repro
