# Can't upload a gif despite the size being ok

hello 💜

for a tutorial we’re putting on our forum, we would like to be able to upload gifs - however, even though my gif is under the size of the max attachement size (19Mo vs 50Mo in `max attachment size kb`), with the message announcing a 100Mo limit - how come ?  
also, by uploading the gif to a third party site (imgur), the forum wants to format it as a video and fails to do go, how can I fix it ?
