# Canvas Theme Template

I don’t know what’s on the core roadmap, but one thing you could do right now is create a new theme component right on the admin UI:

And then declare custom properties on it’s CSS file. You could either look up properties on the [Readme file](https://gitlab.com/manuelkostka/discourse/canvas/theme/-/blob/main/README.md). Or copy the contents of [properties.scss](https://gitlab.com/manuelkostka/discourse/canvas/theme/-/blob/main/scss/properties.scss) from the theme repo.
