Catagory background image makes text unreadable

(Josh) #1

Hello, I am new to discourse, i really like it’s features, and its fun to use. I have one slight issue though, and i cannot seem to find a fix, when creating a catagory with a background image, the white box behind the text fades out to transparent making text unreadable on all but white background images, is there any way to have the boxes fade to a certain opacity or not at all? I think the background images makes it look great, but the only way to read the text is to highlight all of it.

I do apologize, this is probably a stupid question, but i would be eternally grateful for any tips :slight_smile:

You can use CSS to put a white (or transparent white! rgba(255, 255, 255, 0.2) ) background on the posts and other content.

Try:

body::after {
    content: "";
    background-size: cover;
    background-image: url(https://ACOOLIMAGEHERE.jpg);
    opacity: 0.3;
    top: 0;
    left: 0;
    bottom: 0;
    right: 0;
    position: fixed;
    z-index: -1;
    width: 100vw;
    height: 100vh;
}

Change opacity as needed.

Pardon the resurrection, I tried adding that CSS to the Customize section in my forum but it isn’t showing up.

Is there still not a checkbox or simpler way of having the content get a solid backbround in front of a background image?
