# Categories cannot be selected

Hello everyone,  
I hope someone can help me. I’m a web designer and know many CMS, but Discourse is completely new to me. I’m currently setting up a German-language information platform that will provide information about the Ukraine war and allow discussions.

My problem:  
Since yesterday, certain categories can no longer be selected or deselected. See screenshot. It works by explicitly searching for the category, but no longer in the overview. Two days ago everything was fine, apparently I made changes somewhere without being aware of the consequences. But I can’t find the reason. Can anyone help me? Why are some checkboxes suddenly grayed out?

Moin also made a video here with a temporary workaround, so the category can be selected/deselected in the navigation:
