# Categories more visible

Hey,

I would like to have the categories more visible in the main menu like Gitlab has, which setting need I use? Now I have my topics visible there but I would like to have the categories.

The site setting you are looking for is `top menu`. The first item is the default homepage.

That is very much same than what `/categories` at top nav shows. Why would you like to pollute sidebar with that?

Thank you for your quick response! This only changes what is visible in the top navigation, but we would like the overview of topics underneath that to show the categories on the lieft, and topics ont he right (like Gitlab has: [https://forum.gitlab.com/](https://forum.gitlab.com/). Thanks!

Then set `desktop category page style` to categories and latest topics
