Category Change Notifications

(Aaron Levin) #1

On a topic different from this one, someone changed my category from “Feature” to “Support”. I know what you’re trying to say about me, but…

Anyway, this didn’t pop-up as any sort of notification. Stack Overflow is usually pretty good about notifying you about all events surrounding your questions, answers, and comments. It’d be great if Discourse had similar functionality.

Feel free to tell me that this already does exist and changes this category to Support. I’ll start looking for some then!

I just edited your post. Did you get a notification? I bet you did!

At least, you’re supposed to, it’s quite possible we have bugs on day one of public release?

(Aaron Levin) #3

Yes, I received notifications of the edits.

Try changing the category from Feature to Bug and we’ll see.

(Jeff Atwood) #4

Oh, that – no, you won’t be notified of category changes to your topics.

Those are logged, but they’re not really part of the edit history of the post per se.

My $0.02: that’s a valuable edit to be made aware of.

Agreed, topic owners are now notified of edits to the title and category of their topics.
