# Category selecting weirdness

I was trying to figure out a better way to implement ui for the categories and noticed these inconsistencies:

1. The link to Categories-page gets hidden from the nav when you select a category
2. If you select new, unread, starred etc. tab and then select a category, the view changes to latest
3. If you are writing a new topic when you have selected a category and select ‘All Categories’ from the drop down, the forum asks “Are you sure you want to abandon your post?”

I agree we should retain the nav here.
