# Category-specific New and Unread counts should be present

We have noticed a bug on our installation ([discuss.newrelic.com](http://discuss.newrelic.com)) where the New and Unread links at the top of the page do not appear to be context sensitive. This isn’t what we’d expect to see. For instance, at root we see this:

But if we go into a category that we know has unread/new posts, there are no numbers. The end result is confusing in that it looks like the category itself has no new or unread posts when it does have some.

We expect those top links to be context sensitive by category. This looks like a bug for that reason.

Not a bug, as designed at the moment. But I agree that it is an odd behavior.
