# Change communication with Matrix from notice to message

The chat-integration plugin does not support IRC so I have connected it to Matrix a channel bridged to the target IRC channel. That works but the bot is sending channel notices instead of plain messages, which is causing problems (e.g. getting banned from Freenode for spam, even if it’s just a couple notices a day). Is there any way to change that?

It is not currently configurable.

A pull request which allows changing the matrix message type with a site setting would be welcome.
