# Change from example.com to community.example.com

yes, i’ve used that before

When i first hosted a domain on **namecheap** , it was a while till realising that

- in the record’s host column, for A record `example.com` host would be `@`
- for `community.example.com` host would be `community`

From my recall yes. At first was trying to put sub name with domain name. In the A record just need the sub name prefix.

yes, it’s differnet with the CNAME and TXT records from the SMTP provider into namecheap. However the MX (recieving at SMTP provider) records either need `@` or sub name prefix, as the host.
