# Changes to pricing structure and what features are in the free plan?

Oh, interesting, I hadn’t realized how new the free plan is – [You're invited to try the Discourse Free plan beta! - #14 by Moin](https://meta.discourse.org/t/youre-invited-to-try-the-discourse-free-plan-beta/395632/14) – I guess that makes me a little less surprised by the changes.

At least the changes to the pricing page sound (unsurprisingly) intentional, though I’m not sure what to expect longer-term: [No starter upgrade option - #8 by Crown1](https://meta.discourse.org/t/no-starter-upgrade-option/403167/8)
