Hi there
What maximum number are you referring to? Is this the maximum number of posts in a topic, or do you mean the number of posts that an individual member can make in a day?

Admin \> Settings \> Auto close topics post count
(Maximum number of posts allowed in a topic before it is automatically closed (0 to disable))
