Although I tried that, it didn’t workaround the issue. Which didn’t surprise me because system already meets the min length of 6 requirements.
Since our non-LDAP situation and therefore the impact of this issue is temporary, I homed in on using 5 and 10 for min_username_length and max_username_length respectively. At least that enables certain user settings changes to work.
