# Chat image not opening full screen when clicked on first upload

I saw a thread about this from Feb 2025 that said it was fixed: [Images in an enlarged chat cannot be opened after a message with the image is posted](https://meta.discourse.org/t/images-in-an-enlarged-chat-cannot-be-opened-after-a-message-with-the-image-is-posted/352881)

But we are experiencing this same issue on my forum.

- Happens across chromium browsers (haven’t tested FF or Safari)
- Happens on mobile devices as well (android and iphone, but still tested in Chrome)
- happens in both full screen chat and mini-mode
- Toggling the chat between full screen and mini-mode (or doing a full page refresh) fixes it and the image can be clicked or tapped on to open in full screen again
- only impacts on first view after the image is uploaded. After that it works correctly.
