# Chat not working after dev install

After following all steps in doc: [Install Discourse on Ubuntu or Debian for Development](https://meta.discourse.org/t/install-discourse-on-ubuntu-or-debian-for-development/14727)

I tried running server using “bin/ember-cli -u” and (“bin/ember-cli” + “rails s” in saparate terminal windows).

I am getting error as: “network error” in chat window.

Do i need to running any additional command in terminal? or did i missed something?
