Ha! That’s interesting as I viewed that thread but only scrolled back up a little way, in fact I stopped just before those 2 posts 
I used to use custom theme code to make the links clickable but then Ember updated and I had to scrap all the code
A dedicated user field type would be awesome for this if it’s at all possible
