If the post had already been edited a few days before the hidden tag was added, you didn’t see the error but the edit history with only the older edit. The fix only addresses the case where there are no visible edits - it prevents the pencil from appearing at all in that scenario. Your scenario (post already edited → staff adds hidden tag → color turns orange) is a separate edge case. The updated_at timestamp still gets touched, so yes, the color …
