Hello,
I’m not able to send email. The admin email has been activated manually.
When I try to send an email a get “Client does not have permissions to send as this sender”

Here there is my app.yml config:

> DISCOURSE\_SMTP\_ADDRESS: “smtp . company . it”
> DISCOURSE\_SMTP\_PORT: 25
> DISCOURSE\_SMTP\_DOMAIN: “company . it”
> DISCOURSE\_SMTP\_USER\_NAME: “COMPANY\\XX021885”
> DISCOURSE\_SMTP\_PASSWORD: “Aaaaaaaa-aa8”
> DISCOURSE\_SMTP\_AUTHENTICATION: “login”
> DISCOURSE\_SMTP\_ENABLE\_START\_TLS: true
> DISCOURSE\_SMTP\_TLS: false
> DISCOURSE\_SMTP\_OPENSSL\_VERIFY\_MODE: false

The discourse.conf in app contains:

> smtp\_user\_name = COMPANY\XX021885
> smtp\_enable\_start\_tls = true
> developer\_emails = email@company.it
> smtp\_port = 25
> smtp\_password = Aaaaaaaa-aa8
> smtp\_address = smtp . company . it
> smtp\_tls = false
> smtp\_openssl\_verify\_mode = false
> smtp\_authentication = login
> smtp\_domain = company . it

Additional info. This my my gitlab configuration for rails, which is very similar:

> gitlab\_rails[‘smtp\_enable’] = true
> gitlab\_rails[‘smtp\_address’] = “smtp . company . it”
> gitlab\_rails[‘smtp\_port’] = 25
> gitlab\_rails[‘smtp\_user\_name’] = “COMPANY\XX021885”
> gitlab\_rails[‘smtp\_password’] = “Aaaaaaaa-aa8”
> gitlab\_rails[‘smtp\_domain’] = “company . it”
> gitlab\_rails[‘smtp\_authentication’] = “login”
> gitlab\_rails[‘smtp\_enable\_starttls\_auto’] = true
> gitlab\_rails[‘smtp\_tls’] = false
> gitlab\_rails[‘smtp\_openssl\_verify\_mode’] = ‘none’
> gitlab\_rails[‘smtp\_ca\_path’] = “/etc/ssl/certs”
> gitlab\_rails[‘smtp\_ca\_file’] = “/etc/ssl/certs/ca-certificates.crt”

I’ve tryied to run the test email script from console, but I get error

> root@discourse-app:/var/www/discourse/script# ruby test\_email\_settings.rb
> /usr/local/lib/ruby/2.4.0/rubygems/core\_ext/kernel\_require.rb:55:in `require': cannot load such file -- action_mailer (LoadError) from /usr/local/lib/ruby/2.4.0/rubygems/core_ext/kernel_require.rb:55:in `require’
> from test\_email\_settings.rb:3:in `’

I need help, definetely!

Thanks, Riccardo

PS: I added spaces in code examples just because the “2 links policy” for posting here for the first time in discourse
