# Close Topic by Default?

Hello!
Is there a way to close the topic by default? I mean the topic will be closed instantly after posting the topic.
I’m aware that I can achieve this by adjusting the “Security” settings under Category. Shall I set no reply to everyone and set **Auto-close topic after** : 0.1hrs
Is that is the best way or is there any other options?

Hello @akhil!
I would manually close the topic immediately after posting it, or post the topic in a category where no one can reply.
Having all topics within a category closed upon creation is somewhat unconventional; configuring the category settings (`Security`) so that no one can reply like how you described seems like a more appropriate move.
