# Code Blocks on an iPad Mini 2

Okay, so first off, I don’t own an iPad, nor do I have one readily available for testing, hence my silly question.

How does one create code blocks from an iPad? I’ve been told be a user attempting to do such, that there are no backticks on the iPad virtual keyboard, and entering 4 spaces before each line of code gets truncated, so there are no longer 4 spaces…

What options does this person have?

Actually the problem I have is with an iPad Mini 2, I don’t know if the problem exists on all iPads and iPad Minis.

You can tap and hold the ’ button to get a `  
Not convenient for typing 4 of them, but it should work!

Yippeeee, what a carry on. When the ’ is tapped and held, three options appear and one of the options is a backtick.
