Coloured categories not showing in latest view

So, we’ve got coloured categories and tags that show on the main page but when switching to latest view I can no longer view them as coloured.

Does anyone know why this would be?

Thanks.

Wasn’t sure if this was support or ui - move if need be.

Due to only being allowed to upload 1 image as a new user.

Best guess would be a theme, but it’s hard to say without more details. Categories certainly have color on /latest here on Meta. Can you share a link to your site?

It’s closed to registrations, it’s only the Light & Dark theme that is being used on the site.

I took another look at your screenshots - those are not categories, they’re tags. I see you figured out how to remove the tag squares per Removing default square from tags.

Reopen requested by OP.

@OneTwo, can you provide less cropped screenshots please? It’s really hard to help when it’s unclear exactly what we’re looking at. In screenshot #1, is that /latest, or /latest for a specific category? If the latter, you wouldn’t expect to see the category listed for each topic as they’re all the same.

This is the main view, categories on the left and the latest view on the right - notice how it shows the categories with their respective name & coloured icon

Where as when you click on Latest view only it doesn’t show that, like it does on the latest view here.

The lack of category in the latest topic list is likely based on some plugin or theme customization you have running. Notice the columns are messed up, they are off by one. The far right column is blank.

Hello,
It’s only happened recently - we’re just running light & dark theme, using the following components.
Any idea on how to fix it?

Thank you.

the only CSS we have is:

Try to run your site in safe-mode and see if you the problem is still there or not.

To me it seems only that you set the site setting category style to none.

category is set to bullet, entering safe mode is showing the icons now.

So it must be a plugin issue? Any idea how to resolve this?

Without a link to your site is hard to say where is the problem. Probably you need only to add a new rule to your CSS stylesheet to fix it

The site is currently closed to registrations, I don’t know CSS - what would I need to add?

There are too many possible permutations to say.

If we can’t look and you can’t fix the css yourself, then you have to find someone within your community who knows CSS who can help you.

It’s impossible for us to provide free support whilst blindfolded.

If one of you could share an email address, could I invite you to join the forum and take a look for me? Be willing to send you some BTC for the assistance.

@Dax

Do not mention people, send me an invite to dax@discourse.org, I will take a quick look when I have time

Sorry, I didn’t know I wasn’t allowed to mention people.

Invite sent, thank you.

Your site is broken by an unofficial plugin, it’s not a simple “category bullet missing”. I have no idea what unofficial plugin are you running so you need to share the list of what plugins you are using
