# Completely disable like / heart module?

All I have to do to disable the heart / like system is in the settings \> post menu click X next to like and save? It seems to remove the hearts from the posts but I wasn’t sure if there was anything else I have to do.

Yes, Discourse was built with deep integration with Likes so disabling them affects many aspects of the forum.
An admin must have a very good reason for wanting to disable Likes.

I just figured if someone wanted to click a button, mind as well type a reply so turning off the likes could funnel into more user activity but now after thinking about it sort of all makes good sense. Mine as well just have the likes!
