Composer is attempting and failing to load the markdown-it-bundle resource under http

(Stan Dyck) #1

I have a site configured to accept http and https connections. When I start a topic under https, the composer is attempting and failing to load the markdown-it-bundle resource under http which causes the preview to fail.

I’m not sure how this should behave but it currently just silently fails.

If https is working, why don’t you enforce it? There’s no point in serving both other than hitting these quirks…

I can enforce it but what if I’m in a situation where I can’t?

I think it’s incorrect for software to assume that http://foo/bar is the same resource and has the same representation as https://foo/bar (or file://foo/bar or somenewprotocol://foo/bar).

An https resource should especially not assume http://server/somelibrary.js is the same as https://server/somelibrary.js which appears to be the case here.

[I also don’t necessarily agree that there is no point in serving both.]

This is an unsupported config. Either you are https enforced or you are http.
