That plugin looks very cool! I wasn’t aware of it. If that can be extended to the user profile field it sure sounds like it would fit Jay’s need as well as OPs.
But the question also got me thinking of the Pavilion Custom Wizard Plugin 
and whether that might have an application in this kind of scenario. I haven’t used it, so I’m not sure of its capabilities, but it does say it can do conditional settings and manage user custom fields…
