Configuring auto-bumping for topics

Hello, this is a suggestion: would it be possible for bumped topics to have an icon in front of the title, for example, which could be this one :repeat_button: , so as to clearly indicate to site visitors that a topic has been bumped before they click on it and find out? Some visitors may only want to read new topics, and not old topics that have been automatically bumped up.

Am I understanding correctly that 1 is the minimum number of posts to bump daily?

We have a ā€œresourcesā€ category and I thinking bumping one of these every 4 days would be enough. Otherwise there would be a new bump every single day, and that feels like it would overwhelm the feed.

I tried putting .25 for the frequency, but after saving it was erased.

Am I missing something?

I’d assume the setting ā€œNumber of open topics to automatically bump dailyā€ requires an integer. The code wouldn’t likely cope with a fraction of a topic.

If you wanted to make a feature request, maybe what you’d be looking for is a two-part setting: ā€œAutomatically bump [ ] topics every [ ] days.ā€

(Or perhaps this is something a plugin could do.)

Yes, I’d be more inclined to a number and duration setting, like x posts per day/week/month. But your idea is probably better.

I was just hoping I misunderstood the setting and one a day is the minimum for auto-bumping of posts by categories.

Hello, I have a suggestion regarding this feature. I would like the selection of topics to be bumped to be based not only on the choice of categories, but also on the interest shown by site visitors in the past. This could be the number of views or votes, or something similar. The age of the topic could also be a criterion, so that, for example, topics less than a certain number of months old are not included. And then I’d like to reiterate my suggestion below, which didn’t go down very well, but which I consider to be my biggest problem… Thanks.
