if you are admin, you can do this by adjusting height of menu via css

hmmm, I think you can adjust the height of the user drop down menu by lessening the value of the menu-panel’s max-height with CSS (whether absolute or relative sizing). .menu-panel.drop-down { max-height: 80vh; }

otherwise there is no user setting in preferences.

edit: Don’s answer below is better because it’s based on the number of notificaitons, not size of the menu.
