# Convert ipb to discourse?

Is there a converter available to convert my IPB 4 forum to the current version of Discourse? Need posts, members and forum organization intact.

I believe @pfaffman recently worked on one, and it’s in the GitHub source tree if you look?

There is indeed an IPB importer: [ipboard](https://github.com/discourse/discourse/blob/master/script/import_scripts/ipboard.rb). I don’t know what version the site that I last used it for was using.

The two sites that I converted had very different database layouts and, I think, message formats.

I have no idea if it’ll work for. If you want help and have money, you can contact me via contact info in my profile or post on the #Marketplace.

If it does work for you, I would love to hear it!
