# Converting a topic to a personal message, "Topic allowed users is invalid"

Hello!
I’m trying to convert a topic into a personal message. This used to work, but now I get the error message:
`Topic allowed users is invalid`
It’s not clear what this means or how I can resolve the issue. There are 3 users on the topic that I’m trying to convert and they each have the appropriate trust level for group messaging. I searched meta for the error message but there were no results.
Any thoughts? Thanks in advance!

Update to latest Discourse, this bug was recently fixed.
