# Create a QR code for invites

On my sites, it is better to have a QR code for an invite as opportunities often crop up at in-person events. Have you considered rolling QRs into the invite modal on the sidebar?
I guess this could be a nice little Theme Component. Personally, I’d be delighted if I could simply insert a QR code image I already have into the modal. So far it has resisted my attempts to do so though!

All that is needed for this to also be applied to the new Invite modal would be this:

Any chance the invites could be refactored to use the core Sharing API? To my mind, this would make a lot of sense all around, and mean that this feature can be nicely marked as #completed

This is a great idea 👍
I was reading just now about the invite system being a little tough to work on
I love the [QR Code Shareables](https://meta.discourse.org/t/qr-code-shareables/341948) component. Like Nathan said, it is great for in person events and would be awesome for invites
