# 为手动上传创建了新文件夹

hello,

i created a folder named _ **test** _ in _ **standalone/uploads** _ path to uploads pdf files manually and open them on browser.

But no success with pdf. i get Oops! That page doesn’t exist or is private error.

But if upload jpg in this file it can be open on browser .

What is wrong with pdfs ?

And is this safe method ?

No. You need to upload your files into Discourse, you cannot put them on the file system.
