# Created overwritten when editing first post

I just saw in the topic [Can't send test email with Amazon SES](https://meta.discourse.org/t/cant-send-test-email-with-amazon-ses/31370) from @Blackening999, that @codinghorror edited the first post and that overwrote the created timestamp:

I thinks that is not intented like this or am I wrong? I mean, that doesn’t bother me at all, just wanted to mention it.

Nope, not what happened, Codoinghorror moved 4 posts into a new topic named ‘Can’t send test email with Amazon SES’ and thus he was the creator of the topic (by Discourse’s rules).

Therefore this is intentional.
