# Creating categories without selecting an icon

I am not sure if this is a bug, it could also be a new feature.

While I am not able to create a category without selecting an icon in the old interface to create a category. This is possible in the new one. But the new interface blocks creating a category without selecting an emoji, so for me it feels like not selecting an icon shouldn’t be allowed either.

The result are categories without a square, emoji or icon. Is this a new feature?
