# Groepen maken in Discourse

Groups in Discourse allow you to organize users and manage permissions. This guide will walk you through the process of creating a new group on your Discourse site.
## Access the groups page
There are two ways to access the groups page:
1. Find the “Groups” link in the left sidebar. The link is always visible when in an admin area, otherwise it will be under the “More” section.
2. Add `/g` to the end of your site’s URL (e.g., `your-site.com/g`)
## Create a new group
Once you’re on the groups page, look for the :heavy_plus_sign: New Group button in the top-right corner of the screen. Click the button to open the group creation page.
## Configure your group
On the group creation page, you’ll see various options to set up your group:
- Group name
- Full name
- Bio (About)
- Owners and members
- Membership settings (access, automatic membership, flair)
- Interaction settings (visibility, mentioning, messaging, notifications)
- And more
Fill in the required fields and adjust the settings according to your needs.
## Create your group
After configuring your group, click the Create button.

Sorry, but could you make a guide for the latest version of Discourse? I’m having trouble making individual groups in my forum.

Welcome to Meta @JellyForums :wave:
This guide is still up to date albeit the first image of the old hamburger menu has changed to a sidebar.
Just append `/g` to the end of your sites url which will take you to the groups page. Then in the top right corner there will be a ‘New Group’ button and you’re good to go from there :wink:
