# Creating Tags

Hi Discourse, How can I create tags? It looks as if everything has changed? (Not tags created in a post)

Tags are only maintained for Topics, not Posts.

You maintain them in the Composer, or whilst editing the title section of the OP:

If you have rights to (check with admin if you are not admin), you simply type in your tag, if it exists already, just click the existing tag to populate it.

If it doesn’t exist and you have rights to create a new tag, it will create the new tag.

If editing a Topic’s meta from the pencil icon, you must hit the tick to commit.
