With css as I suggested before?

You can decide to not display things based on the user being a visitor

There is a component with which you can add SVG icons: Custom Header Links (icons)

I think there is some discussion on using a custom icon here: Custom Header Links (icons) - #212 by icaria36

Something similar was reported a year ago in Custom Header Links refuses Matrix URL

Maybe the permalink workaround works for you too.
