Indeed, this has always been a joint effort.
Sometimes if some folks have relied on the plugin as a critical piece of their setup, and want to keep updating their site to the latest discourse code on a regular basis, they have made PRs to this plugin which I review and merge relatively quickly.
I’d gently suggest that if you have the capacity to overhaul your stack due to this plugin breaking, you probably have the capacity to run codex or claude once in a while to make a PR to the plugin when you notice something breaking on your site. I’m not particularly fussy. If the PR is passing CI and your agent has added tests where necessary, I’d review and probably merge it.
