Btw, as @qingfeng1024 is experiencing this problem as well, it does not seem to be a personal problem here. Maybe he can tell us also what the tests above show on/in the forum there and also what plugins are used?

The above is the output from my console.
I have installed several plugins; however, after entering [safe mode](https://meta.discourse.org/t/53504?silent=true) in the browser, the backend still does not display the post count. I am uncertain where the issue lies, as all other statistics appear to be functioning normally—only the post count yields no results whatsoever.

Thanks! Your queries have the same odd `AND NOT ((topics.category_id IN (NULL)))` clause that I can’t figure out the origin of. At least we can rule out plugins if this happens in [safe mode](https://meta.discourse.org/t/53504?silent=true) too.

I think this may be a server side issue that [safe mode](https://meta.discourse.org/t/53504?silent=true) doesn’t disable.
It looks like you both have the [Private Topics Plugin](https://meta.discourse.org/t/private-topics-plugin/268646) installed. I think it may be an issue with that. Possibly this commit from January? Nice catch and I agree that the plugin should not insert that line if there are no private categories set (will update later today)
But I’m failing to see how it can break the dashboard?

I’m not entirely sure, but when I install the Private Topics plugin on my test site I can repro this issue. It seems to be when I don’t have any category set with ‘enable private topics’ in the category security settings (even if the plugin is installed but disabled). If I set a category to have Private Topics enabled then my dashboard report is populated again.
I think it may be that the amended report doesn’t like the NULL value in the extra condition?

I have been able to reproduce the issue and I have pushed a [fix](https://github.com/communiteq/discourse-private-topics/commit/d16d09c1fc874cf51b3155002f6dd533288d28ef).
