# Deactivated plugin causes Error 500 on post

‘Deactivating’ a plugin won’t necessarily protect against a lot of javascript issues. You could try uninstalling it completely.

Have you tried [safe mode](https://meta.discourse.org/t/53504?silent=true)?

Anything in the server logs?
