# Deleted post still sends a notification

People are complaining all the time when I delete a post that they still receive a notification, then they get annoyed that it is for a deleted post.
Shouldn’t the notification go away as soon as the post is deleted?

What notification are you referring to? There are no notifications when posts are deleted.

@codinghorror, I believe he is referring to the fact that a notification that was generated from a thread is not “also” deleted when the thread is. ie. if you were to mention me in a reply to this post (I would be notified) and then delete this thread, I would still see that notification.

Not sure if removal of previously sent notifications is possible on delete event. You would have to ask @sam. This doesn’t come up very often.
