# Deleting Default "About the \_\_\_ category" posts

How I delete the default “About the \_\_\_ category” topics that are automatically created when you make a new category? Right now I have them archived so they aren’t visible to the public, but that just creates a lot of clutter. Is there a way to delete them permanently?

You have to unlist it so it is is not visible. Archive just freezes the topic. I think to delete the about topic you should create a topic timer to delete it. However, that category is important as it informs users what the category is about.

Those topics can’t be deleted – they contain the description of the category.
