# Deleting posts

i want to delete my post in discourse but since there are some replies on it, i can’t.  
i want to find a way to delete all posts even if there are replies on it or not

You can ask a moderator or admin to do it.  
The reason why you need a staff user is because when the first post of a topic is deleted, all other posts are deleted as well. So you could remove valuable content written by others. A moderator can move those posts to a new topic if needed.
